Year 5 chalk art

While the 6s have been getting ready for camp the Year 5s have been working on 'island' activities. Some of the activities were our boat sank and we had to throw 20 unimportant things off the boat. Another thing I enjoyed was drawing the island. Mine was called 'Big Hand Island'.

2013 Sports Activator

Ginni was back today working on small ball skills with Room 2. Check out the 'crazy catcher'- I wonder why it has two sides and what happens when you throw the ball at them?
Team work and accurate throwing and catching were the focuses for today. Gorgeous day for it!

Mr Heron, our student teacher

Mr Heron is room two's student teacher. He'll be with us most of the year. He set up a challenge using his ties, every day he'll wear a different one and if he wears the same one twice and we spot it he'll give us a prize! (Hopefully an edible one!)

Competition....

Finish the following sentence-Wakari School is a great school because.... There will be prizes for the most original and interesting ideas.

Another exciting year lies ahead...

Welcome to the class blog everyone! I hope that everyone is keen to get going for another fun and challenging year in Room 2. The holidays have been great but I know that many of you are ready to get back to school and make the most of the year that lies ahead. This blog is one way that you can show your friends and family the neat things that we will be getting up to in Room 2 throughout 2013. Our first week will be about setting up new routines in the classroom, letting the Year 6s get used to new responsibilities around the school, allowing the Year 5s to adjust to being in the Senior Syndicate, as well as catching up on each others' holidays. There will be a notice come home on the first day that will talk about some of the routines in Room 2 but if you have any other questions don't hesitate to make contact with me. Enjoy your first few days back at school everyone! Mrs Brown:)
